Privacy Policy

CNTripGuide is operated by Minitrip Technology Inc., a Delaware corporation (“we”, “us”), which is the data controller for the information described here. We help travellers plan trips in China and book hosted experiences. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what you can do about it. It applies to cntripguide.com and to the CNTripGuide apps for iOS and Android.

The short version. You can browse and use the AI trip planner without an account. We ask for an email address only when you book an experience, so we can send you the confirmation and put you in touch with your host. We do not sell your data and we do not track you across other companies’ apps or websites.

We do not collect your payment card details. Card data goes directly to Stripe; we only receive whether a payment succeeded and the last digits of the card.

We do not ask for your location, contacts, photos, microphone, or camera.

2. Legal basis and how we use it

We use your information to provide the service you asked for (planning trips, booking experiences), to communicate with you about a booking you made, to keep the service secure, and to comply with our legal obligations. Where we rely on consent — for example non-essential analytics cookies — you can withdraw it at any time.

We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or automated decisions with legal effects.

3. Who we share it with

We share only what each provider needs to do its job:

Model providers process your questions to produce a reply. We do not send them your email address, payment details, or booking record.

We may disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect the rights and safety of our users. We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising.

4. International transfers

We operate across borders: our servers are in Asia and the United States, our hosts are in China, and our users are worldwide. When we move personal data out of the EEA or the UK, we rely on the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses or an equivalent safeguard.

5. How long we keep it

6. Your rights

Wherever you live, you can ask us to give you a copy of your data, correct it, or delete it. If you are in the EEA, the UK, California, or Canada you also have rights to object to or restrict certain processing, and to complain to your local data protection authority.

Email [email protected] and we will respond within 30 days. We may ask you to confirm the email address used for a booking so we do not disclose someone else’s data.

The apps have no accounts, so there is no account to delete. Deleting the app removes the trip list and chat history stored on your device. To delete a booking record, email us.

7. Cookies

Our website uses cookies that are strictly necessary for it to work, plus Google Analytics to measure usage. The apps do not use cookies or any advertising identifier.

8. Children

CNTripGuide is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has given us data, email us and we will delete it.

9. Security

Traffic is encrypted with TLS, payments are handled by Stripe (PCI DSS Level 1), and access to production data is limited to the people who need it. No system is perfect; if a breach affects you, we will notify you and the relevant regulator as the law requires.

10. Changes

If we make a material change we will update the date at the top of this page and, where the change affects an active booking, email you.
